The Build

We decided that the Royal Enfield Himalayan would be a great bike to modify. So we set about thinking which direction to go, should we do a madly aggressive scrambler? Nah, we've done quite a few scramblers. So what about a motard, we've not done one of them and so the decision was made. We started naturally enough with wheels, swapping the 17" rear and 21" front steel rimmed jobbies for a pair of anodised 17" alloy rims re-laced to the factory hubs. Continental Sport attack tyres were chosen with a 180 section fitted to the 5" wide rear rim and a 120 section fitted to the 4" wide front rim. Spoke covers in black were also fitted to give the spokes a chunkier look.

Up at the headlamp area a competition number board was utilised incorporating a 4" rectangular headlight. The standard instrument cluster was removed and a Striker LCD digital dashboard fitted in its place. Pro-taper braced motocross bars were also fitted along with new grey grips. The tank protection frames were also removed to gain a less cluttered look to the front of the bike. We removed the lower front mudguard leaving just the high guard in place. 

At the rear of the bike we removed the mudguard extension, rear carrier and standard indicators. Here we fitted small LED units with tinted lenses, we then smoked the standard factory taillight to match.

The standard silencer was junked in favour of a shorter "open" item which we think suits the bike and sound the part. With the pipe in place we then rejetted the carb to suit, the bike now has a lovely deep sound and a crisp throttle response.
